At the beginning of November in the town of Punta de Piedra in Turbo, Urabá Antioquia, the Shrimp Festival (Festival Del Camarón) is celebrated with which the community of this coastal town pays tribute to this emblematic product of local gastronomy.

The festivities include different events with shrimp as the protagonist. In addition to the traditional gastronomic fairs in which visitors can taste typical local dishes such as shrimp rice or ceviche, contests for the largest shrimp or shrimp eaters are held during the festivals. Sports competitions, cultural exhibitions and concerts are also held.

The traditional pageant of the Shrimp Festivals is also held with candidates from villages, neighborhoods and townships of Turbo.

The Shrimp Festivals (Festival Del Camarón) in Punta de Piedra not only celebrate the importance of shrimp in local culture, but also strengthen the sense of community and revitalize commerce and tourism in the region.
